As some of you have seen, there is a new feature on the forum called social groups. These are effectively mini sites and I suggest we use this feature for the groups that have developed naturally.
What I need is a list of groups and someone for each group that is prepared to be the Moderator for it. I can then set up the categories and the Mod's can set up the group.
Try to keep it as short as possible to avoid confusion. Maybe up to 6 groups?
I will start the list.

During what should have been a simple update, the database crashed. I have managed to save nearly all of it but the forum skin is no good. I have decided to open it back up on a temporary basis while I decide what to do with it. There are also a few links missing to different things like the photo album and arcade.
You will notice a number of new features on the forum but please don't use these yet until I give the OK. Otherwise it might cause me even more work

Just lately, a post can't be made on here without somebody turning it into some sort of playground slanging match. Why? because I have let it happen.
No more though, registrations are slowing up and all that's happening is that some people are using this place to reinforce the widely believed point that us Brits are just a bunch of arrogant, know it all, do f*ck all bunch of arses. I don't want to be associated with that type of person, not in real life and not on here.
Well its going to stop now - a handful of members are putting other members off posting on here and those people are going to have their arses kicked off.
I will continue to do this until I'm satisfied that the forum is back on an even keel. I doubt if any of you "keyboard warriors" would dare act like this in real life but you can be certain that you're not going to be allowed to do it on here any more.
I am simply going to delete anyone's membership, regardless of how long they have been a member or whether they think they are right or wrong. Please don't respond to this thread with some sort of argument because it isn't a point that's been posted for that. Its just for your information. Its also how the forum is going to be operated in the future.
The membership caused it, not me, not the admins - just YOU people.
Most of the people that are likely to disagree with this point are most likely the ones that are causing the problems.
So if you like the forum and want to remain a member here then be careful how you behave in future.

The new forum script has now been purchased and I will be beginning the upgrade soon. This will take place in a few stages and when complete, will make the forum much more interactive than previous.
The first stage will be to upgrade to the latest older style VBulletin 3. The version for this is 3.8.4 and we are currently running the 3.6 version. This will remain in place until I have had the chance to fully test and set up the the latest version, which is 4.02. This is going to be done on my test server and won't impact the forum during that time.
There are a number of changes to version 4.0 from older versions and these should be a big benefit to the site.
Proposed new additions with Vbulletin 4.0- Discussion / Forum
- Photo Albums (new and better integrated)
- Social Groups (effectively mini sites for the current groups - ie. Southern mafia, Northern Monkeys etc..)
- Events Management - New
- User Blogs - for those who want their own mini site
- Article-based content management publishing
This is going to be the biggest single upgrade to the forum and I expect it to take myself and the other Admins a while to get our heads around it, so if something doesnt seem right with the forum - please bear with me.
Some of the upgrades will need the forum to be closed down for short periods but I will post notifications of this wherever possible.
I am anticipating that the forum will be upgraded to 3.8.4 sometime this week.
