Hornet back wheel

A while ago my back wheel kept losing air so I took it in to the garage and they said it was leaking round the rim but they'd repaired it and it should be ok.
Recently it's at it again (after only a few weeks)..I checked the tyres last Thursday night before leaving for the rally and the back one was down. Pumped it up to right pressure (42 in the manual) and by today (Tuesday) it was down to 25. I knew it was down as the bike was drifting a bit but that's a lot of air to lose in only a few days.
Is it worth me getting the wheel looked at again or is it going to be more cost effective to replace the wheel? If so how much am I looking at? I know there are some 2nd hand ones on ebay etc but are they a good buy or is new better?
The bike is T-reg with 20,000 miles on so if they are the original wheels will they be about knackered? (It has not had an easy life either from what I gather.)
