Hey Nat. I've just bought a CBR600F as my first bike and I think it's a great all rounder tbh. It's certainly fast enough, has the looks (ok - not quite as sexy as some of the competition, but still good) and is great for my commute. Because a lot of the power is in the high rev range if you knock it up a couple of gears you can pootle along calmly enough without being frightened of the power. Conversley you can knock it down and rev the proverbials off it. I didn't want anything too intense as I'm very inexperienced and it's ticked all boxes. The thing that sold it for me was stupid cheap insurance from DialDirect I got insured with no experience TPFT + pillion for £260!!!! For the exact same quote with the same company the 600RR was over a grand as were all the other sports bikes.
