Chief constable named as chief marshal for TT - Isle of Man Today
"CHIEF Constable Mike Langdon has been appointed chief marshal for TT 2008.
The move was announced in the House of Keys this morning by Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw.
Mr Langdon's appointment by race organisers ACU Events Ltd fills a vacancy left by the resignation of Roger Hurst who stepped down following stinging criticism by the Coroner at the inquest into last year's triple tragedy at the 26th Milestone.
Mr Earnshaw agreed the move marked a 're-engagement' by the police in the race organisation.
Traditionally, the chief constable was always made chief marshal but that link was ended by the former police chief Mike Culverhouse."
