The Varadero 125 is a big bike and you would be ok with it. We have the big version and it's lovely.
Don't despair that it didn't come easily - I thought I would get on my NSR 125and it would be a breeze
Ha Ha. After dropping it twice on my CBT and scraping the fairing (I did still pass though - think my instructor was being generous that day) I went out the next day with the lads after being advised not to - gave it a fistful of front brake and stuffed it into a lampost, smashing the front end to pieces.
Decided to spend two years on my 125 before I got something bigger - I definitely needed the experience. Keep at it.
