If the oil looks ok, and there is no emulsion in it, on the surface of filler etc, then personally I would fire it up and warm it through (on tick over /low revs only) first, otherwise you are going to have the change the oil twice.
If the oil looks pants then I would change it, remove and drain the filter, and refit and top up with cheap oil... then run it up to temp and change the oil again with good stuff and do the filter...
