On the fazer you have no chioce, you cannot turn off the lights, and you have to have dipped beam on.
On the lav I turn on dipped beam in traffic,or if it's raining etc, and tend to turn it off when on quieter roads and in good weather..
I believe that there are stats from countries in which it it compulsory for all vehicles to have dipped beams on that it does reduce accident rates..
