Filling up at a petrol station, is it easiest to just sit on the bike? or do you lot tend to get off, put the stand down and then fill it up that way?

Yes I did; a man was about to help me push it out of the way when I clicked on and started it.
I always fill up sitting on the bike as its a small tank and I want to fill it up as much as possible. You won't overfill if you're careful and go slowly. It takes practice to not be wobble (you need to get near enough to the pump to be able to reach to put the cap on there whilst sitting on the bike) and it seems a bit fiddly at first but it's fine after the first few times.
And ALWAYS look for diesel on the floor at the pump; I've heard many a tale of people pulling up, putting their foot down and slipping on the floor resulting in an undignified dropping incident.
Sound fraught with difficulty doesn't it but it's a piece of cake really.
