Personally I don't care that much what others think so I would happily turn up in my bike gear... (Bearing in mind that there are still places with "no biker" policies. Tho I will not use them even if in normal gear.)...if there's a place that get sniffy about it then I would not want to give them my money anyway
However there are times when needs must,(when it involves work for instance) so I simply wear trousers and shirt under my kit, and have a rucksack big enough for my kit, but you can normally find a handy window sill, or under chair area to stow stuff.. (or you can stow it a friends motor should there be one handy)
