Re: Yamaha YZF R-125

I owned a YZF R-125 after passing my CBT , awsome learner bike and best looking of the 125 range in my opionion. Wasn't the comfiest bike in the world (unless you are slightly taller than usual) but other than that was a steady, easy to ride, forgivable bike. As far as maintenance goes, i think someones said it, check the service manual. but things you should really be checking anyway are brake fluid levels, engine oil levels and keeping your chain nice and lubricated with chain lube. With it being a 4 stroke it uses hardly any oil unlike a 2 stroke. I also found that it was quicker than BOTH my brothers Aprillia RS 125 and my friends RS 125, both rode the bike and commented on the acceleration and cornering of the bike so much that they would even consider swapping for a YZF R125. Not sure what differences the 09 model will have but i suspect it will be minimal. I cant fault anything on the bike and still miss it occasionally but as a first bike it awsome and a great stepping stone to a bigger bike if thats the route you want to take!
