Poor condition of UK Roads

Is it me or have ROADS really deteriorated over the last few years. I was out a few days over the last week and driving around i really noticed how bad roads are.

I was constantly dodging potholes, uneven bumps - to the point where i was concentrating more on the few metres in front of me than the road ahead.

The crappy roads send jolts right thru the bike and me!!

Being a car driver for most of my life - you get used to a cushioned ride - but these roads are a death trap!!

Honda CBR 600RR and proud!!

Totally agree! I can't ride yet but even in my car I am noticing more and more pot-holes and bumps in the road. I'm constantly swerving all over the place, it looks like I'm trying to warm my tyres up for a race

yep and then there's the mid lane manhole covers on roads that've been resurfaced a dozen or more times without the covers being raised to the same height. pot holes on bends are lethal!!!

FillThatHole.org.uk

Fill It In

keep copies and then if someone has a accident due to a hole which has been reported, its possible that the council is liable

Re: Poor condition of UK Roads

If only every road user paid some kind of 'tax', which could be used to keep all the roads in a good state of repair. They could call it the 'road tax'. Let's face it, which ever way we turn, we are getting f****d left, right and centre by this government. They'd rather pay out millions in compo for accidents, than use the billions we provide in taxes to upkeep the roads. You never see roads this shit in other countries! We're all mugs.

I have to agree, some of the roads in Scotland were great last time I visited about a year ago, most of them made the M1 look like a off-road jaunt. I suppose most area's have their share of crap roads but they are definitely getting worse, so we need the road tax and tax on fuel to double, to cover this.

Think Again Gorden Brownnose. (You complete asshole)

Then either the roads are better near you, or my rear shocks knacked.
