best bikes to restrict to 33 bhp...

soon i will pass my practical and theory test and i would prefer to get a larger bike probably between 250cc and 300cc, because i heard that even when restricted they have better acceleration and a slightly higher speed.

Another thing mentioned to me was that some bikes will restrict better than others.

so if anyone has some idea of which bike is good for restricting would be a great help to me.

I need too look into this for my lad, the info I have at the moment is larger restricted bikes are totally gutless due to weight.

I'm looking into the CB500 or ER-5.

One of the motorcyle magazines did a test of restricted bikes and if memory serves a restricted Triumph Legend came out as one of the best.

I think the lower state of tune the better the bike responds to restriction. That said, you'd look the dogs on a Hayabusa! Quite a few bikes of smaller capacity are already sub 33 bhp anyway. A good dealer ( if you can find one ) should show you all your options.

the local garage who fits restrictor kits to our students gave me a spare manual with all the makes and models that can be restricted and there are loads, i was really surprised by the amount. leave it on the table in work so people can look if they want
