Tax doesn't have to be taxing

Tried to tax the bike by phone the other day, spent ten minutes on the phone only to be told that because my insurance is invalid I can't proceed...wtf? I've got the certificate of motor insurance in front of me so what's the problem? Right, I'll go to the post office I thought. Wrong. You can't tax the bike as your insurance runs out before the end of the month AND even if it didn't I can't tax it until the 15th....AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHH. What's the point of sending me a reminder if I can't tax it? Bit miffed but I've formulated a cunning plan.

My plan is to get next years certificate of insurance (and mot), take them to the post office on the 30th of June 10 minutes before they close and pay the £48 in one pence pieces. Ha.

Rant over, spleen vented, coffee time, chill out.

Erm excuse me!!!! I used to work there and was always as helpful as possible!!! I once helped an old lady fill in a DSS form as the unhelpful gits over in the DSS couldn't do it!!! She came in crying and went out smiling! So there!!!!!!!!!!

(Going off to polish my halo now as it fell off when I was ranting.)

Have to agree (sorry Lad Clara) most post office workers have a little third Reich in them.
I've been doing my tax online for a couple of years with much less aggro than the counter gestsapo

Re: Tax doesn't have to be taxing

Taxed the burger online .. just last week .. so simple .. tax disc turned up in the post yesterday ... so yes you can do bikes online .. and why bother taking your docs to the post office .. when you dont need to.

I must say LC we have a small PO at work and the staff there are wonderful, very friendly, helpful and efficient. Much better than the jobsworths in the main branch in town.
