Get yerself some storage mate, a box/tank-bag/panniers.
There's nothing worse than popping to Tesco and having to put the loaf in your jacket, she wern't best pleased I can tell ya.

Im allways riding round in cheshire whatever the weather decent rucksack will come in handy for putting your butty box in and waterproofs

Baglux tank cover and tank bag is probably the best thing I have ever bought for my bike. It doubles as a rucksack too
