| Re: L - Plate's What's The Point? I don't know about other newbies on here, but sometimes I find that the L-Plate on the back of the bike might as well be a target! I have to ride a pretty wide stretch of road to get to work - but it's a 30 limit, and El Plod have a habit of hiding at random places on the road to nick the unwary speeder. Whether I'm riding or driving, I never ever exceed about 32 on that stretch - it's not worth the risk. But I've noticed that if I'm in the car, I very rarely get tailgated or similar by other drivers. On the bike, though, pretty much every day I end up with some pr*ck in a cage riding my tail-light, clearly incensed at my lack of speed! It's the same speed, on the same road - the only reason I can put it down to is the sight of the L-Plate, and the extreme reaction some people have to that red 'L'. Neil |

| Re: L - Plate's What's The Point? When I was riding on L-Plates I would sometimes have a driver swerve around me even though I was travelling at the same speed as the rest of the trafic. He would then get stuck behind the car in front having made absolutely no progress. When the L-Plates came off that sort of behaviour stopped. |
