| What do you do when you go to the pub etc? Hi all, Just come into work for the first time on my bike this morning! been great :-) I got changed in the cyclist changing area (I'm lucky with where I work, they have a lot of facilities) I'm just wondering what you lot do when you go out in respect to clothing? i.e. I'm in full leathers, because I'm new to biking, I just don't want to take any risks at all! I bought a 30 litre back pack but there is no way my leathers will fit in there (I doubt even my trousers alone would fit in there!) So say you're going out for a nice meal in a restaurant, what would you do? go and get changed in the toilets? only wear a helmet, gloves and Jacket? I'm going to be with only a bike until end of September os need to figure out a way around all this! My current plans are if I'm going with a friend, go to their house, get changed then they take me to the restaurant! This wont be possible on Thursday, as I'm going out with people from work, if I leave my bike and get a lift my bike will get locked in at work, so I need to ride to the restaurant, but I haven't a clue yet what I'm going to do when I turn up in full leathers! | Re: What do you do when you go to the pub etc? Personally I don't care that much what others think so I would happily turn up in my bike gear... (Bearing in mind that there are still places with "no biker" policies. Tho I will not use them even if in normal gear.)...if there's a place that get sniffy about it then I would not want to give them my money anyway However there are times when needs must,(when it involves work for instance) so I simply wear trousers and shirt under my kit, and have a rucksack big enough for my kit, but you can normally find a handy window sill, or under chair area to stow stuff.. (or you can stow it a friends motor should there be one handy) HTH Jonny |

Re: What do you do when you go to the pub etc? Hey fella, how far away is your work? When i go out for meals that are not that far away and im on the back of my old mans/bros bike i just put my jacket, boots, lid, and gloves on, but i always make sure iv got a decnt pair of jeans on that are thick enough to give me a good chance. Dad and bro do the same and have been riding since they could. hope this helps you decide what to do ![]()

Re: What do you do when you go to the pub etc? I haven't tried my trousers on under my leathers yet, my jeans were too thick as well as my leathers to fit my boots on... :-( I'll try my trousers, that might work out well actually :-) although sweaty...nice :P Work is only about 7 miles away, so it's not far, it's just working out what to do! and I'm fine once I get here, loads of places to change! it's more the restaurants/bars when I go out with my mates for the first time and stuff like that. I may do as you say though, just wear a tough pair of jeans and my jacket. And I'm certainly not one to care if I'm just down the pub with my mates, I'll be turning up in just my leathers too! :-) I am doing it right wearing nothing under my leathers aren't I? I was trying to put leathers on top of my jeans in the shop (because I've never thought in that much detail what biker wear UNDER the leathers...!) and the shop keeper told me that I wear nothing, just the leather pants, a t-shirt (or shirt of course) and the jacket and that if I wanted something to go OVER my jeans, I needed overtrousers (or whatever you call them!) but they just didn't look good to me! Thanks for advice so far, good to get an idea of some real life experiences you guys go through! Andy

Re: What do you do when you go to the pub etc? I wear textile pants rather than leathers, and yes I tend not to wear trousers underneath, but by removing the liner there is more than enough room, so on journeys like to and from work my biking pants go over me jeans ![]() And like your Mum Always said make sure you wear clean undies... just in case ![]()

Re: What do you do when you go to the pub etc? Why not invest in a pair of leather jeans and kill two birds with one stone! No need to change out of them and they look smart too with a shirt and tie or a t-shirt ![]() https://sslhelm.net/bikersparadise-c...p?idproduct=65 Sun Custom Leathers – Selling Exile style, Hydroponics, Easyriders clothing, Biker Leather Craft, Sunglasses, Unusual Gifts, Pipes, Bongs, Herbal Highs, Smoking Accessories and Well Just About Everything You can Think of and More!
