Clothing/Hoping for new bike Hey all, im going to look at a ZZR6 next week after riding a Sv650s at the weekend and not entirely loving it. HOPEFULLY ill like it and want to just ride away on it! the other half of this thread was to ask anyone and everyone what kind of helmets they think are the comfiest or is it a general "each to their own"? Asking as i dont want to get a shoei and find arai one is comfier. And does anyone know a general good biking clobber as im growing out of the leathers iv had over the last couple of years as i found the beer and KFC were the best things in the world. lol. Looking for mostly material clobber as i work in the lakes so more than likely ill be riding in the rain most of the time!? ![]() Thanks in advance ![]()

| Re: Clothing/Hoping for new bike I know I'm a 'noob' but just thought I'd reply as I see you're in Liverpool! Manchester has a couple of great shops! I apologise in advance if posting links isn't allowed on these forums, please don't ban me :-) Motorcycle battery | Motorcycle Parts | Motorbike Accessories | Motorcycle Tyres Shop Locator | Hein Gericke Also, I found going to google maps, going onto the 'find businesses' tab and typing in 'motorcycle clothing' then the area you want, so type Liverpool or Manchester, and then letting it search is really useful. It places dots on the map so you can see where all the businesses are, and then plan your way around the shops that are close together so you can see like 5 or more shops in a couple of hours easy! Let me know if you want me to expand, it's nearly home time and I get to ride again so I'm excited and rushing :P Andy |

Re: Clothing/Hoping for new bike I'm going to go and get in my leathers now actually!! :-) The google maps things works great, try a variety of wording, i.e. motorbike instead of motorcycle - I had most success with 'motorcycle clothing' though! Good luck! Andy

Re: Clothing/Hoping for new bike Re helmets: I don't think you should worry about the brand too much, it is more important to get a good fit. You may not have a shoei-shaped head, for example. There is a relativey new database of helmet reviews. Search for SHARP on the web or govt sites and you'll find it. There are some interesting results with some budget buys out performing more expensive models. There are some criticisms of the methodology used in the tests, but it is worth a look. HTH Dave

Re: Clothing/Hoping for new bike Thanks Dave, i went to the local suzuki place up here in barrow last night and tried a few on, only had a limited selection as it was a small shop but she did mention the star rating and said they try to get the higher rated ones in! I see what you mean about the not having an "arai shaped head" i tried shark on and it wasnt a good fit, but then i tried sparx (i think) and nitro and they were a nice fit! waiting to go back home or manchester at the weekend to try some others out. Cheers for the links GB having a look-see now ![]()
