50 pence worth of embarrassment Got my bike from its MOT this morning and on the way home I filled up and decided to check the tire pressure. So, with the bike on the center stand, dust caps removed, I deposit the requisite 50 pence. The Compressor fires up and I set the digital gauge to 36 PSI and approach my front wheel, it is only then I find there is no way to get the nozzle on because of the brake discs! As I try all conceivable angles to get the darn thing on I notice people waiting for the air/water, not to look stupid I replace the dust cap and confidently approach the rear wheel only to find the angles just as difficult. A little embarrassed I decided to leave it and use the little car pump at home. I hope I am not the only one to have done this! ![]()

Re: 50 pence worth of embarrassment I do mine with a foot pump and digi guage for the same reasons. You need to check/alter the tyre pressure when its stone cold anyhow ![]()

Re: 50 pence worth of embarrassment Some of them can be a complete b'stard, you have to try and attach by getting as close to the axis of the wheel as possible. You could buy a couple of right angle valve extensions.

Re: 50 pence worth of embarrassment The daft thing is that it never occured to me that this could be a problem, I only decided to use the garage as it was next to the MOT place as i normally do this at home but I am glad I did in a way. I will get a right angle adapter to put in a tool bundle tho, thanks for the idea Rerb. Problem solved ![]()
