Aup, I'm 19 and in july i passed my CBT and now drive a Honda CBR125 , but i want to do my full bike test before october. Now i know i can't do the Direct Access because i'm not 21 yet, but i turn 21 within my 2 year CBT and read something about Accelerated Access Scheme, but its not clear to me what i can ride, just sound like a posh name for the CBT test, Can anyone give any more info about what i can do?Thank You Michael

Re: DAS Question Hi Mike, funnily enough i was 19 when i passed my test and now im 21 (in april) i have to wait until 08-08-08 (spooky date innit ) to ride a big bike (unless i paid 300 for the DAS), but fortunatly its not far away wahoooo....anyways more to the point...i tried EVERYONE i knew asking for a quicker way to do my big bike test or even ride one etc, but to no avail!!!my only option would be to get a restricted big bike!!? quite good for experience! but still not what you want is it! but as gaz said they change all the time and maybe there is something you can do, but i dont want to know as ill be pee'd i didnt find out about it earlier !! lolbut yeah be good if you can! good luck with it all ![]()

Re: DAS Question You could pass on a bike above a 125 and ride a restricted big bike or a bike like the Honda Bros 400 which is just below the 25kw max power rating of the restriction. My brother is in a similar position and he did the full test, first time he took his bros out he came back with a grin a chesire cat would be proud of. Details on on restrictions and test are on this page Motorcycles you can ride : Directgov - Motoring Welcome to forum and have fun no matterwhat you decide to do. ![]()

Re: DAS Question Hey, accelerated access means that if you take your test on a 125cc and reach the age of 21 before the two years 33bhp restriction is up, you can retake your test on a big bike without having to retake your theory test. Not as exciting as it sounds! Your best option would be to take your test on a 125cc, then either buy a 250cc which will make less than 33bhp or get a big bike and have it restricted to 33bhp. And then once you have the certificate to prove that the bike is restricted, you can have it de-restricted and you're very unlikely to be caught ![]() Last edited by kat : 07-24-2008 at 02:40 PM.
