![]() ![]() I think he's anti-everything to be perfectly honest, a right sad old t*%t, forum meet up would be good fun we could get some cold ones, sit on the drive Rev our engines in unison (although my little 125 wouldnt sound quite as nice as some of yours) and be a general menace to him. Ah if only! ![]() He even went as far as to call environment agency to my house last year because i flicked a ciggy butt onto the road! Sad i know, but you see why i instantly think hes the whodunnit with the nail incident! | |

| Re: Nails in tyres If you get 2 nails in a tyre, they are legally not allowed to repair (plug) it. But i can't believe on my old scooter i drove with a rear flat tyre for over a week before i realised it was flat...lol Rob |

| Re: Nails in tyres It can legally be repaired provided the puncture is in the cantre 50% of the tyre, if it is beyond that it is deemed too close to the side wall to be safe. I have ridden my bike (GPZ900) with a plug, mainly because I was skint at the time and rear tyres for the latter model 900's were, and still are to a certain degree like the proverbial rocking horse droppings. However, as you ride a 125, the power and therefore the physical stresses being put through the tyre are a lot less, I would have no qualms about riding it. I have just replaced my rear for the second time in 9 months, as I too had a nail, unfortunately mine was too close to the side wall so had to be binned. The good news was however that the tyre was and still is an Avon something or other, which came with a manufacturers guarentee. Ergo, free replacement ![]() SteveT |

| Re: Nails in tyres Get it repaired if the tyre man says it's ok... I have done this more than once and I have never had a problem... That said I have ridden for days and days (and a couple of hundred miles) with a nail still in the tyre, coz circumstances have been such that I had to ride the bike, and it was before days of many tyre places opening Sunday. And for some of us a rear tyre is still a major purchase |
