Bridgestone BT-021

Just had a new Bridgestone BT-021 fitted to the rear, this is the replacement for the tried and tested BT-020. Up to now I am impressed, the wet weather performance seems to be better than the old one.

I have even managed to scrub off my chicken strips in wet and damp conditions

Re: Bridgestone BT-021

That's the tyre I used to have on the Firestorm. Deffo gave confidence in the wet. I'e just replaced the rear on the SP with the same that came off - a Metzeler rentec sports - I'm a bit wary now as there's no tread for an inch or so, from the sidewall. Saying that, when I was out up at Hartside the other week, it was tanking down and everything felt ok. However I'd only had the bike a week so was taking things easy anyway.

Re: Bridgestone BT-021

I was gonna have an 021 a couple of months ago, but they only had 020's in stock.....next time for sure! I've still got my chicken strips after 500 miles! Mind, my last rear was so squared off, I didn't need to use the centre stand.

Re: Bridgestone BT-021

Chicken strips were quite difficult to get rid of on 021's for me, the profile of the tyre is completely different to a more sportier tyre, plus they're made of a much stiffer compound. Even though I had the bike on it's ear, there was still 5mm left ! I don't hang about in corners either, just ask Deano
The Metzelers, although I haven't really tested them to any great speed feel great in the bends. I've only done 100 miles or so on the new tyre and I've only got 10 mm to go. Can't wait for a hot day and a Kirkby Lonsdale - Kirkby Stephen run. (my favourite bit of road)

Re: Bridgestone BT-021

I think insurance co's should inspect our chicken strips before quoting our annual premiums
