Re: What are your measurements?!? I have a personalised plate that I was going to put on my bike but it needs to be in a line rather than over two lines so doesn't suit a bike plate. A friend of mine has just bought a Gixer with a stupidly small plate and I wouldn't have anything that small...but I was wondering whether or not you generally get away with a slightly illegal plate as long as it was readable (is that a word????) and in standard font type etc. I see a lot of bikes with smaller plates...but it seems the folk on here are good law abiding souls and the general consensus seems that it ain't woth the hassle. Cheers all ![]()

Re: What are your measurements?!? my plate is just the right size to snag on the crap in the back of the shed as I manouevre the bike in so it fits in with room to shut the doors and don't get me started on the enormous great indicators either side of it!!!!

Re: What are your measurements?!? At the moment mine is standard; I had a slightly smaller one on but it disappeared recently during a ride out. Never saw it again! So had to put the old one on. Looks to big and ugly I think so will get another slightly smaller one. Never had any bother either.

Re: What are your measurements?!? For quick and easy i can recommend halfords of all places, they only had two sets of indicators - huge and teeny, they fitted a treat and can be seen round the number plate perfectly, not bad for 15 quid and i know theres one just down the road from you lol

Re: What are your measurements?!? dave, I'll stick with the huge plate and massive indicators - if I start putting smart accessories on an "old guy, ride to work" bike it'd look daft. I'll just wait til I get my next bike - or break off my indicators and plate by knocking into the crap at the back of the shed Maybe I could clear the shed out? No, life's too short and I'm way too lazy

Re: What are your measurements?!? Mines standard. Been there, done that with "chase plates" as they were called in the 80s. Any excuse to pull bikes over in Suffolk, I have heard. Not worth the bother.</old fat mode> Also not much call for one a a FX650 ![]() Keith
