IMHO I can't see there is much point until we have a full complement of riders...

If we promote this and then it does not happen then we will look like a bunch of
tossers and will struggle to be taken seriously next time...

However as soon as we are good to go we need to cane the promotion of the event through every avenue available

Re: Relay chat thread

well Sam & I have sorted legs 1 & 2 (unless its deemed essential each leg has 2 bikes). is someone on ere gonna format an official bikerforum sponsor form we can all print off?

additionally, if we're serious about ongoing sponsorship for Ben would anyone else consider a DD for maybe a fiver month? (he says, without consulting the paymaster general ) bearing in mind a single event such as this relay will be relatively costly to those taking part and further regular fundraising events will be needed to help keep the team competitive.

The reason this got thought of was for safety, company, and most importantly should someone have a mechanical (which fingers crossed is pretty unlikely) then at least it don't cause the whole relay to fail.

appreciate the contingency thinking jonny but time's short and I reckon we should go with what we have now and add 2nd riders as & when they make themselves available

Re: Relay chat thread

Another thing. Would it be worth contacting each circuit to let them know what we plan, as peeps hanging around in the middle of the night might cause a few concerns with their security.

Re: Relay chat thread

Just my opinion but we should have riders for every leg before we look for media coverage or for notifying the circuits and producing the sponsor form.

Like someone already said, if there's not enough riders and it goes pear shapes we look like a bunch of nutters

Some time's my mind doesn't only wander, it leaves completely ...........
