The topic of this thread is the Biker Forum Relay and for any comments, suggestions, questions etc relating to the relay.

Re: Relay chat thread

I'll let you know if I'm available. At the moment we have no itinerary for the weekend, although Matlock will be visited at some point. If it was the other way around I could have met someone in Matlock and brought the baton to Croft as it's only 15 miles or so up the road from me.

Re: Relay chat thread

TBH I think it would be more appropriate to finish at Replicast, after all thats who we are ultimately sponsoring - what does everyone else think?

Re: Relay chat thread

I don't mind but do think the change over times may cause some problems.
How about if this could be kicked off on the Friday evening to allow a few peeps some sleep and a little more time for hand overs, breaks etc.

Re: Relay chat thread

I think that's a great idea as we don't even know if Ben's free to meet anyone in Matlock but maybe someone could be available at Replicast in Barnsley for a picture or two with the last leg members and any other members who are planning on being there at the finish (such as me )

I wonder what Jewson's doing on the 21st .....................

Re: Relay chat thread

until there's a full list of riders for each leg, no point changing anything.

but the tag/gimmick/difficulty is doin it in as close to 24hrs as possible as a relay.
it's not really a relay if you stop for a kip half way??

if we start breaking it up then it just a series of little ride outs, most of us do that anyway.

i've got corner speed, it's control i struggle with!

That was the original plan, but rerb had come up with the equally meritorious plan of ending at Ben's.. TBH I am easy with either option

Yes it might be difficult, but if done over three days with breaks then it is not really much of an achievement, even for riders completing the whole route it is less than 8 hours riding a day...
It would be better IMHO to revise the route so the night legs are in the midlands and NW, coz then I would happily do at least one. Trouble is I could not make the route work like that...(unless you start down south and finish at knockhill, but that don't really work)
