Obviously I wanted to warn him, the only signal I could think of giving was using my hand, horizontal and moving up and down (the 'slow down' signal that pedal cyclists and cars use) to indicate the hazard.

I hope the guy knew what I meant Is there any given set of signals for this type of thing?

Just noticed that I call police speedtraps hazards, heh.
That would do for me mate, except there's not much speeding on a Marauder.

If you ignore any kind of warning wether you understand it or not you gotta be pretty dim me thinks.

I got flashed and warned by a car the other week, they were warning me of the accident I was on my way to clean up.

I had a biker warn me like that a while ago and also had a policeman coming toward me in a car give me the slow down hand signal just before I crested a hill to find a radar trap in a layby. So I think any signal other than the cheery wave is a warning to ease back on the speed.

Re: Motorcycle hazard warnings

I've not really used anything yet to warn other's for now thumbs down seems quite popular. Numerous times it's happend to me people in cars flashing at me for i thought no reason (they are mad) untill i passed the speed trap and the ahhhh bells went off i've even pulled over to see what's wrong with the bike upon repeatedly being flashed before .
