Re: How many times to pass a bike test? Passed first time yesterday morning. Woohoo! My instructor had to sit down with shock, its fair to say i was truly hopeless in my lessons last week, but i managed to pull it all together for the test...i did the same for my car test 15 ears ago. I was straight down to Tillstons in Stockton on Tees and ordered a sparkling new Kwakker Z750, hopefully pick up on saturday, cant wait.

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? Congrats mate. Altho I don't know if I'd have the confidence to go and spend my hard earned on a brand new anything as a first bike. Z750, not a bad taste in bikes you have there ![]()

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? Cheers folks...i was initially gonna get a CB1000R, but the deal on the Z750 was just too good to justify another £2500 on the Honda. GB, i see your near Hornsea....i grew up in Thorngumbald, i bet the roads down that way have some nice riding. I still go down to Spurn Point with the family most summers when the sun shines. I reckon its the best beach in Britain.

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? It is CS but Spurns dissapearing after they built those two rock things at Mappleton. Roads are still the same, probably all the same pot holes as you remember them too ![]()

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? Im a happy chappy this evening...picked up the Z750 this afternoon. I was bricking it as i pulled away from the dealership, visions of totalling it at the first corner...though it was nice not having the instructor bollocking me every other breath. I managed to navigate the traffic through Stockton town centre without too much bother, then the dual carriageway. It seemed incredibly quick even though i didnt go above 6000rpm - the thought of how quick it might be once run in is a little bit scary TBH. Pulling into the street where i live saw it all go pear shaped, stalled it twice, simply couldnt get clutch/throttle/rear brake to work together at all. I guess it will take time to get used it all. Anyway, im over the moon considering that 6 weeks ago i had never even touched a moped, never mind a full blown motorbike. So, are there any organised rides up this way (Richmond/Dales) that anyone knows of, where i can learn to navigate the local roads.

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? Nice one, take your time and get used to it, I've been riding for quite a few years now, its easy to loose concentration and make little mistakes so you take care. I'm not sure I would have trusted myself to go from nothing to a 750 but as long as you keep your head on your shoulders it should all be fine ![]()

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? They made me pass the highway code again. I already had it for my car licence but the French system wants you to re pass that test if you had it more than five years ago. Now as I'm not a really good driver, I've run out all the package hours, so I have to pay a fortune for a lesson 72 Euros !! So I'm kind of going slow with it as I'm not so rich.

You have to do separate ones over here, one for car and one for bike. | |

Re: How many times to pass a bike test? 1st time Was working in a bike shop at the time, examiner clocked me and said "oh no, not you".. lolWent for a spin around Hartlepool and Seaton Carew, did an emergency stop and that was that. That was back in the days of proficiency certificate, part 1, then part 2. (1989) returned back to work and bought a 250 gamma mk3 on the same day.
