Varies between about £1.10 and £1.13 for unleaded round here. My vision manages about 45mpg (1731 V Twin) but it hasn't really loosened up yet - taking it for first service on Friday. It runs better on superjuice though.

Re: What's the price of petrol near you?

Watching the news tonight, Asda and Morrison's have dropped the price of their petrol again and there's speculation that the other supermarkets will follow suit forcing the likes of BP and Texaco to do the same.

Bad new's is that it mat go up again with that delayed gov tax increase

Don't know if it's true or not, but my dealer advised not to use supermarket fuel, as it is lower grade and the octane rating deteriorates rather quicker than the 'premium' brands. If it weren't for all of the electronic gizmos on todays cars, some of them wouldn't actually run on the fuel after its been in the tank for a couple of weeks. I normally use Texaco anyway, having the reward card, but they seem to be a bit sparse as you head North (I expect Sam could confirm or deny that) - when I used to go to Glasgow regularly I filled up just before the M56 and could just make it up there and back to the same station on a tankful (car of course, and diesel).

I think that's a bit of an urban myth but petrol doesn't seem to sit in my tank(s) for that long anyway.

Problems arise when the petrol in the carbs is allowed to evaporate and the additives gum things up. Run it once a week and there shouldn't be a problem.
