Re: where did your bike come from

Private trader for me, 3 years old but had been garaged for all but 6 months of sparing use, in perfect shiny condition! Wish I could still say the same!

Re: where did your bike come from

Dealer. Had been looking for an SP for a while and this one popped up just down the road from me in Darlington. Saw it, drooled, rode it, drooled some more and struck a deal. Got a 6 month warranty and a years MOT + tax too. He got my Firestorm that was sold on in a week.

My Thunderace was off ebay.......bargain of the century, It was but it now, or best offer....so i offered him £300 less than he was asking.....2 days later he said yes.
The bike was in Telford, got there to find it had 12 months tax, 12 months m.o.t, new rear tyre, and every mot, service book stamp since the day it had been bought......
It has also been data-tagged, smart water and an alarm......and all for....................................£1300 quid.

Re: where did your bike come from

In the darkness of night within the pits of hell, large ogre like hammers forged a machine of beauty of such power and torque and sent it to me to ride like a frigging mad man

but seroiusly, it came from ebay, i phoned the guy and said "stuff the auction", how much do you want, and we agreed a price,

I prefer the first bit though

Re: where did your bike come from

I had been looking for a Blackbird for about 18 months. Spent ages on Ebay and trawling every Honda dealer I could find on the ‘Net. Test rode some from local bike shop but they were either too much, too old or wrong colour (important). Nothing on TV one Friday night in April this year and switched laptop on and looked at MCN bikes for sale. There it was at Ecosse Honda in Aberdeen, 04 Blackbird in stealth black with just 4k on the clock. Rang Saturday, said I was very interested and had an 05 CBR6F to trade. Rode over in the afternoon, walked in the showroom and there it was. I had a look (drool) round it, never even started it up and said I would take it. Went back on the Thursday after all the paperwork had been sorted and rode away with a grin from ear to ear.

I bought my previous bike (CBR6F) new from Dobles in Surrey (best deal around at the time and saved £2000) and had it delivered all the way up to Dounreay on the north coast of Scotland.

Re: where did your bike come from

Got mine from my local dealer, I have had 7 bikes the last 6 from this dealer.

Its very good and I wouldn't go anywhere else, I always get a good deal. Their servicing and repairs are good as well

Welcome to Sutton Motorcycles

Re: where did your bike come from

Well... As always happens, I'd been looking for a CG125 for about 4 months, but nothing came up in my area.
I found 'Penelope Shitstop' advertised on the web (adtrader,) and she was 162 miles away from where I was.

Luckily enough, She was located just around the corner from where I live - I was at the other half's at the time in London. But it goes to show that the perfect bike WILL come along... But not until it is meant to! Teehee!

Re: where did your bike come from

bought last summer from a local bike shop. It had been pi55ing down all summer and he'd not shifted much. I said I had £500 to spend and asked if he had any pxs lurking somewhere in the back of the shop. He immediately steers me to a CB250 with £795 on it, removes the price tag and said "how's about that?" It was red, my feet both touched the ground while I was sitting on it, and as a 250 I wasn't going to lose my licence on it or crash it up a tree!

"M" reg, with a nearly full MOT, previous owner an old feller who'd given up riding (true, by some quirk I met the guy, dad of one of my workmates!). All for £500 notes, I was well chuffed. The guy even insisted on delivering it (no extra cost) as I'd been off two wheels for a good while and took me through what all the buttons and twiddly bits did! Yes, I sometimes wish I had a bit more oomph on tap, but hey, it does me!

Re: where did your bike come from

Got mine from eBay, was watching DT's and KMX's, all stupidly over-priced.
Started looking at different styles and liked the look of the Maruader. The seller was about my age (old), low milage, few keepers etc.

Popped down to Bracknell, told him I'd bid up to a grand, had to get the Mondeo into 5th gear pretty sharpesh getting home so I didn't miss the end of the auction. I had one of them "just one more bid" moments and got it for £1,040. A couple of hundred over book price but the alarm and Alpha-dot made up for that I suppose.

If I'd known that on 30th September 2008 my bike would slow to 31 mph to get up a hill I'm not sure I'd have got the bike. But apart from that the bikes done great.
