Got the bike back.

Well I've been over and picked up the Triumph from the bike shop.
I had a good chat with the mechanic who did the sprockets and chain (Snapped Chain if you missed the original thread) and from his description of the job, I'm glad I left to him to do. Half the side of the bike needed to come off!

I thought it was going to be pricey but I was pleasantly surprised with the final price.

I've also been and put some numbers on the lottery just to see if I have any luck left after this escapade.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap scott oiler?

Re: Got the bike back.

good to hear the bike is fixed, have a look on ebay for a scottoiler, they are a wee bit pricey new, but you do get excellent customer service and a top quality product(can you tell i have one). i couldnt live without mine, it was easy to fit and has looked after my chain and sprockets exceptionally well

Re: Got the bike back.

Hello Reborn, try and look for this on ebay The TUTORO Oiler, or try and google it they look very good and I will be getting one in the near future, also alot cheaper than the scot oiler, hope this helps.

Sorry but try this link, www.chainoiler.org.uk that will take you to the correct site.

Re: Got the bike back.

scotties ain't good value if you've got a centre stand imo. however neither of my bikes have centre stands and so I bought onee of these

Drive Chain Oiler

in fact I bought two and they're definitely good value

Re: Got the bike back.

Glad you got the bike back mate, though it seems they took their time with it.

I've done a chain oil/check on both my bikes, (finally I've taxed the Kawasaki Bad news is I can't go out on it in the rain as it's not a wet weather bike ), and they're both in decent nick

Does this mean you'll be able to keep up on our next little run out mate? I'm thinking of taking a ride up to Lord Stones with Deano when the weather picks up a little.

If at first you don't succeed buy a snipers rifle, hire a clown suit and climb a clock tower

They got all the bits but when they opened the C & S kit, the engine sprocket was missing. That added a couple of days and with me doing nights this week it was awkward for me to get there to pick it up. So don't think it was too excessive.

Only if you stay under my self imposed speed limit of 120 on back roads

Isn't Lordstones off the TT?
