| Worra rush!!!! Being most unhappy with my front wheel squeak, (it only happens below 50 ![]() ), I decided a ride to Scarborough was in order to one of the bike shops I deal with just to drop off the bike and get a full assessment of the Kawasaki, you know, looked over and for Pete to tell me what it needs. On the way there my speedo, (which is in KPH), started playing up so it wasn't long before it failed and I didn't have a clue what speed I was doing. I got to Pete's and it was only then I remembered Pete doesn't open on a Monday so, as the wife had been following me as my support vehicle in case something happened, (and also to give me a ride home), we decided to come back home via Humanby since there are some really decent back roads and twisties. Surprisingly, my wife managed to keep up with me on the way back but I was amazed when she said I was doing 90+ round some of the bends!! ![]() ![]() The thing is, I've never had the guts to ride like that on the Triumph, not because it's not capable of doing it but because I didn't feel it was within my own personal abilities. I honestly didn't feel I was going that fast, I thought maybe 50 or 60 round the bends, (and believe me, some of them were almost hairpins), so it's been a bit of a shock for me. Having gone through this 'experience' I was wondering, how many others are governed by the clocks when they're on the bike? Do you look down and think "Shit! I'm going too fast!!" and slow down to a more appropriate speed. It's been a hell of an ego & confidence boost for me, but give the speeds I was going I've just spent the last hour putting the speedo cable back onto the clock, (it has just come lose off it's housing), so I'm not belting about as I have been. After all, with some of the speeds I've been doing I'm definitely into instant ban and re-test territory which is a road I don't wana go down. |

If at first you don't succeed buy a snipers rifle, hire a clown suit and climb a clock tower
