Re: The Joys of Spring

All I said was that I like a certain Harley bike, thats all, nothing more....

Why did they call it a fat boy though FFS.

Re: The Joys of Spring

apparently it came from the head on view because the bike is rather large (fat) (nothing to do with the atomic bomb and Japan - urban legend)

Harleys are like Tigers. Beautiful to look at, but I wouldn't want to own one

I really fail to see what the attraction is with Harleys, I can't believe people put up with THAT level of vibration, the exhaust pipe melting your right trouser leg and right boot, the terrible brakes, and the "handling".
(The bike has just had a £1700 "service" at a main agent so I assume it is running how it should be.)
you just aint ridin it right after twenty years on harleys ive never burned me leg or boot, the vibrations the brakes are like everything else it depends on what system you put on as far as the handling goes i'm sorry Papasmurf but with mine i can offer a lot of riceburners real mean compatition,
and all i can say for the service at 1700 pounds man youve been ripped off

I disagree there Ross, virtually all Jap bikes will out handle any Harley without modification straight out of the crate. You ever see one racing outside of the States? and I don't mean a one make series either.

Harleys just aint built for that sort of riding mate.

Re: The Joys of Spring

that depends on what you put inside the engine mate when ive got mine re-built i'll come over and we can put it to the test(ive just bought a new motor the 1600cc Titan injection) and im changing certain things inside to light weight high performance (crankshafts, pistons etc etc) i'm gonna stick that into a lowrider rigid frame a large 200 rear tyre, belt drive, and only a 2 degree rake on the forks so i'll still keep the maximum handling on corners .

so when its all ready and me legs out off plaster we'll have to put this all to the test

(never keep things that come out of the crate there for old age pensioners)
