and all i can say for the service at 1700 pounds man youve been ripped off
We will have to agree to disagree. As far as I am concerned I just cannot understand how Harleys get type approval for use in Britain.
The £1700 was to carry out the work dealers should have done on the bike in the 10 years since the bike was new. (That 5 different Harley dealers had stamped to service record book that the bike has been fully serviced I find totally disgraceful.) The fact the bike still vibrates badly, has no brakes, and has rubbish handling even after £1700 has been spent on it I find even more disgraceful.
As for Harleys out handling rice burners you are having a laugh.
(Bare in mind it is NOT my motorcyle, if it were there would be several Harley mechanics in wheelchairs.)

With respects

£1700 spent to put a bike right and it still has no brakes and vibrates?

Why on earth haven't you taken it back and complained if these things were supposed to have been put right?

Re: The Joys of Spring

take it back and settle the problem with a smith&wesson or a 44 magnum loaded with hollow points.
Grotbag you can be sure i'll posting pictures of the re-build.
and for every one else when its together (and me) i'll be over to accept any challange to blow out your rice burning piece's of scrap metal (or should i say plastic.

you've got to have a sense of humor to be a biker

It isn't my bike, or several Harley dealerships would now be smoking ruins.
I am assured by other people who have ridden Harleys, crap brakes, terrible handling and terrible vibration is the norm for them.

Re: The Joys of Spring

It's only the 'norm' if they don't do anything about it like your friend!!

I know HD riders that wouldn't have any other make of bike but then again they have the technical know how to correct any bad points on their bikes. They strip em and re build em after all, thats what custom bikes are all about!

Like I said somewhere before papasmurf each to their own, you either love em or hate em

Motorcycles like any other product are legally supposed to be sold as being "fit for purpose". This does not mean spending many thousands of pounds getting them running in some semblance of normality, which the machine should have done straight from the factory.
My friend's HD is far younger and done far fewer miles than any of my wife and I's four ancient bikes. None of our bikes keep falling to pieces and/or keeps breaking down.
