Bike (side) stands .... ish My garage floor is carpeted with bits of carpet ends left over from carpeting the house - it makes the garage slightly warmer and adds a bit of colour. However a dealer (bike) told me never to put my bike on it's side stand on this carpeted floor. The carpet is average thickness and sits on solid concrete underneath. Any reasons/ideas why he said this - the garage floor is level. My 125 stood like this for over a year with no ill effects? ![]() Should i remove the carpet where the bike stands? ![]()

Re: Bike (side) stands .... ish Your supposed to park it on a solid base. Why not just put a square of plywood, slate or something like under the side stand?

Re: Bike (side) stands .... ish I agree, load a twaddle, you park in where you like. Ive had bikes in all shapes and sizes , never heard of one yet that fell over because the side stand was on carpet (with a solid floor underneath). Geeze, its appaling what dealers will come out with sometimes. Motorrad
