| Re: Best (value) Bike Helmet Everything I have read so far leads me to the same conclusion - so long as it has the BS kite mark or the new EU CE mark (forgotten the descriptor) it will provide the right protection for normal speed riding. You pay extra for vents, harder wearing outer shell, etc. But some stuff I've read suggests changing your helmet every 4-5 years regardless of whether you have used it - is this common practice? (Apart from TY, obviously.) K |

That's what I read too Kr, seem's normal wear and tear plus natural degeneration of the shocker material makes them less reliable. | |

| Re: Best (value) Bike Helmet My GF and I both went for different ARAI's. The reason being the additional penetration testing that they do that isn't required for the BS Kite Mark Approval. We went for different ones as the styles fit different head sizes/shapes better or worse. To be honest, cost should be a secondary concern over fit and safety. You only have one head and it don't grow back. I guess the trick is to know what helmets meet your requrements before you go in the shop to try them on and ignore the sales pitch. |
