Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 Dunna want to burst you're bubble Singh but they held a round of the F1 at Donnington in the early 90's and it wasn't very successful due to the track not being wide enough. It was a bit of a parade if I remember correctly.

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 Are you on about '93 at Dono? Yes it was wet and yes most of the action happened in the first few laps.... but what a race. One of Senna's greatest races..... Poor Prosty didn't know what to do. I agree that Dono needs a major... MAJOR... upgrade. Hopefully Uncle Ecclestone will dib up a few squids to give the place a make over. Otherwise it WILL fail.

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 have to agree, donnys to narrow for cars, F1 will become even more boring with racing from donny, there will be NO overtaking at all, and its bad enough at the minute, cost to revamp? forget it, make it wider? no way, would be cheaper to build a new track Last point the carparking at donny is even worse, i take it there is a lot of back handers going on for them to move to donny

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 wow, indie you seem really p1ssed!! is it because your losing your local GP circuit to us Midlanders!! ;-) I would have thought it'd be cheaper to renovate an older circuit than build a new one. Have you seen building costs recently? They reckon they can redo Dono for 100 mil - which is reasonable. How much would it cost to build a new circuit? much more than 100mil (figures for shanghai were over 300 million dollars - 175 mil UK - and that's using cheap chinese labour) - how much would our "expensive britain" contractors want??!! There should be a drive to move sporting events away from the south.... <flame on>

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 i find it easier to drive to donny than most circuits so im all up for you midlanders taking the race, only one question though what about the road system around donny? is that part of the make over as the road system there would struggle with that sort of traffic, (i used to be a service engineer and hated having to drive anywhere near that area of the M1) look at what had to be done at silverstone to make the area cope ish Im all up for formula one to move circuits every now and again, it would force the circuit owners to spend cash on the tracks and grounds instead of putting it in their pockets

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 another thought (of mine lol) what about throwing rockingham speedway into the mix with formula one, a one off a session, Formula one cars on an oval, giving every car on the grid a chance with, that something special OVERTAKING

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 Went to British MotoGP this year (met Spree). I went on bike and missus + kids went in car. 88,000 odd folks turned up. We both left after the race. I was home 40 mins later, and misses was home 40 mins after me. She would have been home quicker (by 20mins) if she didn't lose the car!! It's not as bad as people make out - they make all the traffic one way going into the race and one way all the way out after the race. I live locally - about 10 miles away - but once i was on J24 M1 - it was plain sailing.... Yes i agree J24 can be sh1t .. hopefully they will improve the track, stands, stalls, road , etc etc

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 lets just hope they don't mess up what is a good bike track. they must leave the majority of the track intact because they will have to continue using the track whilst the alterations are built, or close the whole track for a while and lose cash, also is the current ciruit long enough for formula 1? there is a lot they will have to look at, including run off areas, dont think that making the track wider will be an issue though, unlike bike racing forumla one cars dont pass each other outside of the pits lol

Re: F1 moves to DONNINGTON in 2010 I've been a F1 fan since being a kid and Donnington is a lot closer for me, but the skankin Donnington Park promoter/owners will never be getting the hands on my money again. This track is run by total shitheads, they don't have a clue how to treat a race fan fairly, their only objective is to make or steal more money than any other race track or event to date. Eight years ago there were mass complaints from bikers who were sick of been ripped off, Donnington promised major improvements to the surrounding parking area's to be rid of the stupid gravel roads (mainly for biking events) with better nearer track camping facilities. This never happened, I went to further events year after year with prices going far higher than any other racetrack in the U.K. (Donnington Park = Total Robbing Barstewards) end of....
