| Re: Isle of Man TT 2008 Well I'm back, six days later than planned!! Now seriously broke and could use a weeks sleep!! I've enjoyed every moment of it and have booked for the full two weeks next year Got some good contacts for future events too like the Southern 100 and Manx GP later in the year. You can get home stay, a room and breakfast for £20 a night. I won't waffle on too long as I know lots of you have been before, but the I.O.M has an atmosphere all of it's own, friendly, bikes bands beer, scenery and the racing is something else. I got to see it from most points around the circuit and they really have 'balls of steel'Very little room for error flying through narrow villages absolutely flat out on a surface that is far from silky smooth!!! After the first night of padlocking my bike to a lampost i quickly realised you can leave your stuff anywhere and it's safe, everyone looks out for everyone else, it makes a refreshing change. One guy stopping at our place left his mobile phone and key's on the seat of his bike overnight and they were still there in the morning!! ![]() The only bad bit for me was on Mad Sunday, watching a guy on a ZX6 take out about 30 metres of fencing trying to get round Guthries at about 140!! I see why they call it Mad Sunday, the best thing to do is park up and watch the mayhem, then do the mountain when it's quiet! I'm a wuss I know Exciting to watch though.![]() Cheers Saxon |
