Independent Complaints Commission step in after pursuit of stolen motorcycle goes wrong
A MOTORCYCLE crash in which a 25-year-old man was injured on the back of a stolen motorcycle while being pursued by police has caused the Independent Police Complaints Commission to step in and start an investigation into the officers involved.
The IPCC has said that it will now look into the circumstances of the fall. The rider and stolen motorcycle was being chased by two Northumbria Police cars when it crashed in Byker.
The rider is described as suffering serious but not life-threatening injuries, he is currently undergoing treatment in hospital. The genius who was riding the stolen bike was not wearing a helmet.
No wonder coppers aren't too worried about nailing bike thieves if this is what happens when they do, eh?
