Double TT winner considers future after witnessing death of close racing pal
VISORDOWN SOURCES within the Irish road racing community believe Ryan Farquhar is contemplating retirement following the death of close friend Martin Finnegan. Farquhar was present when Finnegan sustained fatal injuries in a crash at the Tandragee 100 race last weekend.
In an interview with BBC Northern Ireland Farquhar backed up the rumours, saying:
"This could possibly be my last year in road racing. I'm not saying it will be, but it is possible. It could just as easily have been me that was killed on Saturday and I know it's not fair on my wife and child, but it's like a drug and I love the sport."
