i have always said that when buying expensive gear that you pay for the name!

arai-the best helmet you can get?????? think again..overpriced and no better than a cheap lid

What your paying for is the brand name, same with niké and stuff, what beats me is that peeps just dont see it!

Sorry guys, that rating is for one particular test only. I have a Shoei but used to have a HJC. The Shoei and Arai fare a hell of a lot better in blunt impact tests than most. I agree that you do pay a premium for the quality but thats the same for any product and if you shop around you can get them at a good discount most of the time.

Mine was listed at around £330 but I paid £195 for it. The build quality on some of the helmets listed is crap. For example - I wouldn't use a Lazer to shit in because it would most likely leak. The trim hangs off the straps are iffy and the general visor fit is loose. I looked at them when I was looking for one for my lad. Besides - who has ever crashed in a lab?

All the test does is make peeps with cheap shitty lids feel better.

i certainly feel better knowing my £80 lid is as safe as one that costs £400 more
