AMERICAN POLICE officers arrested a biker yesterday morning after he ran out petrol during an extensive 130mph chase.
Officers followed Gary Smith as he joined southbound Interstate 5 at high speed, where a State Police trooper attempted to stop him.
Smith rode over 130 miles per hour southbound, using all four lanes to swerve through traffic, said Oregon State Police Lieutenant Gregg Hastings.
Finally, at 12:39 a.m., the motorcyclist came to a stop, where troopers arrested Smith. It appears the 27-year-old stopped because the motorcycle had run out of fuel.
Smith was taken to Washington County Jail, where he was charged with reckless driving.
