| OAP death. Drunken Biker Jailed for five years Motorcyclist jailed and banned for five years following death of pensioner
A MOTORCYCLIST who refused a blood alcohol test following a fatal crash has been jailed for five years.
Christopher Coe was more than two-and-a-half times over the legal limit when his motorcycle collided with pensioner Richard Flynn in May last year.
Mr Flynn, 70, died by the side of Queen's Drive, near the Bulldog pub, before emergency services could reach him. Although Mr Flynn was a pedestrian at the time of the accident, toxicology reports showed he was four times the legal drink-driving limit.
Coe, 42, of Westbury Road, Penhill, was yesterday sentenced to five years in jail and banned from driving for five years, after being found guilty of careless driving while unfit through drink.
Coe was taken to the Great Western Hospital after being injured in the collision. Police officers had to obtain a court order to secure a sample of his blood to prove he was drunk.
