| Brands Hatch - Ryuichi Kiyonari wins World Superbike. BSB wildcard Tom Sykes retires Hannspree Ten Kate rider Ryuichi Kiyonari has won his first World Superbike win after an epic battle with Troy Bayliss, at Brands Hatch.
On lap one, Kiyonari was way back in seventh place, but pushed through the grid and was up to second place, chasing championship leader Troy Bayliss by lap seven.
Kiyonari was gifted a place when Factory Yamaha rider Noriyuki Haga crashed on lap seven at Surtees.
BSB wildcard Tom Sykes was chasing the leaders during the early stages of the race and by lap nine was up to third place, chasing Bayliss and Kiyonari.
But it was not to be as he retired a lap later with a technical problem which transpired to be a holed radiator.
Sykes's bad luck moved Biaggi up to the final step of the podium, where he put in continuous fast laps to catch the leaders.
Biaggi pushed Bayliss, to try and take second place during the final lap but he was unable to make it passed the championship leader.
