Here's a motorcycle/car that has just won the top prize for the Car Design News Open link in a new window competition. The vehicle was designed by an Iranian student named Seyyed Javad Ghaffarian.
The "car" starts out like a trike, riding around on three wheels in normal traffic. Then if the traffic becomes dense, it can transform into a motorcycle by rotating the third wheel around a longitudinal axis running from the front to the rear right wheel with the left wheel elevated into the air.

The motorcycle is called the Magic Tricycle. The seats rotate as well, to keep the rider and passengers sitting upright. The third wheel when perched up on the roof opens up blades which turn around like a helicopter to add stability to the ride.
