| Police pulled 138 bikers in 1 weekend during safety campaign A safety campaign targeted at bikers over the Bank Holiday weekend on Staffordshire's roads has been declared a success by council leaders.
Mobile speed cameras and marked and unmarked police cars were on roads over the August weekend as part of the joint county council and police campaign.
A total of 138 bikers were pulled over and given road safety advice and information.
Police said there were 59 speeding offences over the weekend.
Staffordshire County Council road safety cabinet member Carol Dean said the biker community had taken notice of the campaign.
She said: "It's great that thanks to bikers heeding the message we have made sure there were no tragic biker deaths over the Bank Holiday.
"That's what it is all about - not catching bikers out."
