| Harley-Davidson riders rode over 2,000 miles raising £15,500 for DebRa A group of Harley-Davidson riders have raised thousands of pounds for a charity that helps those with a rare skin disease.
Ross Jamieson, whose wife and daughters suffer from epidermolysis bullosa (EB), covered almost 2,500 miles with nine other members of the Dunedin Chapter of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group to raise money for DebRa.
Mr Jamieson told the Scotsman that the trip was "a bit hairy at times" as some motorists were less than considerate on the road - something which may be familiar to other motorbike insurance customers.
"Still, it was an amazing feeling to get through it and I'm glad we did it. For a start, we managed to tell a lot of people about EB who had never heard about it," he commented.
The group managed to raise £15,500 for the charity by undertaking their tour of the UK, according to the news provider.
DebRa was first established in 1978 by a group of parents whose children were affected by the condition.
The organisation has since grown to include groups in 32 countries and is presently the only patient support and medical research charity in the UK for those with EB.
