| Re: Fine for death driver I've always been a cynic (esp where this Government is concerned ), but consider the financial aspects of court cases in general in a climate where the Government has massively overspent despite its ever increasing tax income - and needs every penny it can lay its hands on.fines = money IN jail = approx £3000 per week OUT, plus if the scrote had a job then the government would also lose his income tax contributions AND would probably have to shell out income support & housing benefits for his family. no surprise IMO - justice is expensive ![]() |

| Re: Fine for death driver Bet if it was a car he pulled out on he'd have done time. But as proved many many times over the years, bikers lives are cheap. Shame they can't look at the long term when it comes to bikes - Rising road tax, rising insurance costs, VAT on all the servicing, parts & tyres and of course the real winner - Speeding fines which mean not only the fine itself, but the cost added to insurance premiums for at least 5 years after the conviction. |
