Steve Brogan to race at Brands Hatch on yellow CBR1000RR Fireblade

Honda (UK) has unveiled a stunning limited edition winning yellow CBR1000RR Fireblade in celebration of Steve Brogan’s British Superstock Championship title win with the HM Plant Honda team, which he secured today at Silverstone Circuit during the penultimate round of the championship.

Following the podium ceremony, the 27 year-old Honda rider from Liverpool unveiled the winning yellow Fireblade and took to the track for a celebratory parade lap - showcasing the new colour machine which Steve will race during the final round of the championship at Brands Hatch on 10 – 12 October.

Just 100 of the Steve Brogan championship winning yellow Fireblades will be made, each signed and numbered by the man himself, and available from Honda Motorcycle dealers from the end of October following the final round of the championship. Each limited edition CBR1000RR will remain at £9,321 (inclusive of road taxes) - the same price as a standard 2008 Fireblade – and will also be available on the current red hot 0% Fireblade finance offer over 42 months with a minimum deposit of just 10%.

Steve today clinched the British Superstock Championship title on a near-to-standard Fireblade, following his runaway lead with seven wins and three further podiums, during the 11 races so far this season.

Brogie commented, “I’m made up to have won the British Superstock title, especially before the last round of the season. It’s been a fantastic season and both the bike and the team have been amazing. I knew when I first saw the new 2008 Fireblade that the improvements the development team had made would result in a much-improved bike. I’ve been so happy with my Superstock machine that I’ve hardly had to touch it as it was fast with amazing handling straight out of the crate. I think the new winning yellow colour is great and I’m honoured that Honda has made a limited edition version to mark my championship title win.”

General Manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles, Steve Martindale, commented, “This is the first year the new Fireblade has been raced and Steve’s comments relating to the bike not needing anything more to be the best sums up the same feelings that our customers and dealers have. We’re delighted for Steve to have won the championship – he thoroughly deserves it as he’s ridden very well and consistently all year. Producing a limited edition winning yellow ‘Blade was a great way to celebrate Steve’s and the HM Plant Honda team’s achievement, as well as provide our customers with a great new coloured Fireblade, which we know they desire.”

Honda’s impressive CBR1000RR Fireblade has been a winner in the showrooms and on the track since it first appeared back in 1992 in CBR900RR form. Over the last 16 years the machine has been constantly developed and further refined to give discerning sportsbike riders the ultimate machine for the track or road.
