| Despite the fact that statistics show over and over again, that speeding is NOT what causes road fatalities, it's still THE way for governments to pick your pockets. Now, in the UK, they're planning to go one step further. If you are caught for a 2nd time speeding on your motorcycle... | ||

but nobody has said what would make people think more about there speed than more severe penalties just took turns taking potshots at me. there is a speeding problem - the fact the government are using it to make revenue is wrong - but people who think its great to speed are also wrong

| Re: UK Government Plan 2nd Offence Ban For Speeding Riders didn't mean to give you a persecution complex, I just profoundly disagree with the 2 offence ban notion that you clearly support. if your immediate concerns are local then get in touch with your local police. I'm sure they'd be delighted to hear where they can find regular speeders ![]() |

| Re: UK Government Plan 2nd Offence Ban For Speeding Riders I don't get what the argument is about to be honest. It's really simply and easy, anyone can understand it. Even a small child could grasp the concept: If the limit is 30 and you're doing 40+, if there's a cop about or a camera you'll get nicked. If the limit is 40 and you're doing 50+, if there's a cop about or a camera you'll get nicked. If the limit is 50 and you're doing 60+, if there's a cop about or a camera you'll get nicked. And finally - If the limit is 60/70 and you're doing 70+, if there's a cop about or a camera you'll get nicked. It's sooo simple it's almost laughable, stay within the speed limit and you won't chance getting caught, bollocked by traffic plod or fined & points. Go over the speed limit and behave like an adult, hold your hands up, admit you did wrong then take the fine and the points on the chin. Don't moan, complain and gripe about getting nicked. We ALL speed at times, be it a little 50cc doing 40 in a 30 zone or a Hayabusa doing 200 mph on the motorway. This sanctimonious bullshit about how unfair it is or how the government is lining its pockets is just that, pure and utter bullshit. If you don't want the points and don't want to pay the fine then stay within the speed limit. Step outside of it, get caught and face the consequences. |

But who's the bigger idiot? The retard that sits in an office hanging onto stopping distances and speed limits set in the 50's or the imbecile that goes belting down the road 20 mph plus above the speed limit knowing full well if he/she is caught the money they pay out won't only be in fines, but it'll be in increased insurance premiums the following year as well as the next 5 years and of course the increase in the tax on that policy.
