More than 500 bikers have died on the roads of Spain so far this year.
Some 10,000 bikers collected in Madrid on Saturday in protest at the dangerous crash barriers installed on many roads of the country. The upright metal supports on the barriers can act as guillotines to bikers who slide under them, and many fatalities and injured have been caused in that way.
Indeed just before the demonstration there was a fatality outside Madrid on the M-625.
The bikers held a minutes silence for the more than 500 bikers who have died on Spanish road so far this year. They want to see more safety measures, such as anti-skid tarmac, better road surfaces and fewer taxes.
