Re: Identity Please

To find out if it is, you could speak to the BSA owners club, they may be able to help you out to see if it is still around.

Re: Identity Please

I've just this morning got this message back from a retired workmate:-

You have probably solved this by now but in case not... We think you are right. it's a BSA C11 between 1946 and 1952. Lightening up the image shows a chrome strip on the tank and what appears to be an oil filter in front of the base of the cylinder. Compare with this -

This looks likely; rigid, chrome strip on the tank single seat.

After 1952 it had plunger rear suspension.

Cheers,

Looks like the hawkeyes were right

Don't think so Moto, askmid.com says the reg isn't insured and DVLA site doesn't have a listing for the bike.

It might be in a museum somewhere but it doesn't look like it's still on the road.

If at first you don't succeed buy a snipers rifle, hire a clown suit and climb a clock tower

Re: Identity Please

It,s a 1947 BSA 250cc C11. It,s the model with the speedometer in the top of the petrol tank. The engine had crossed pushrods. I remember them well, they were a bit sluggish though. My 1937 Triumph Tiger 70 would them standing!
Hope this helps. Mikalot.
